The Futuroscope, famous french Park specialized in high-tech attractions now guides its visitors with ViaDirect wayfinding solution

It is with special pride that ViaDirect announces, with all its partners, the equipment of Futuroscope theme park in Poitiers, France, with their hardware and software wayfinding solution.

Suited to the Futuroscope needs, ViaDirect software now assists and guides all the park visitors.

Flagship of France’s leisure parks, specialized in new technology attractions since its opening in 1987, Futuroscope welcomed 1,85 millions visitors in 2018. July/August 2019 560,000 visitors even broke the year 2000’s last record.

Already known for its numerous high-tech attractions, Futuroscope is launching « Objectif Mars » in 2020. Even if finding its way in the park has always been quite easy, it was only a question of time before the specialist of high-tech and experimental attractions would one day decide to use a high-tech wayfinding system.

ViaDirect is then especially happy to offer, with its partners, a complete solution of totems, kiosks and software able to guide its visitors to one attraction to the other in a precise and playful way. 

Thus, while offering the opportunity to quickly find your way, the dynamic displays give visitors access, from anywhere in the park, to a real time and instantaneous overview of all available attractions, including detailed schedules.

ViaDirect and its partners have gathered to install around 30 wayfinding and real time information totems and kiosks throughout the alleys of the renowned Futuroscope.

Wayfinding solution allocated to Futuroscope includes… 

32 kiosks dispatched in…

  • 26 outdoor kiosks
    • 17 information vertical totems equipped with 49’’ screens displaying attraction schedules, including line estimated waiting time
    • 6 wayfinding digital maps spread on 85’’ screens coupled with a real time information 49’’ display
    • 2 x 47’’ i-Self wayfinding touch tables
    • 1 giant triptych consisting of a big map spread on a 85’’ screen and 2 x 49’’. An exclusive creation for Futuroscope
  • 6 information dynamic indoor kiosks nicknamed Futuromap located inside the buildings

The ViaDirect software includes : 

  • Exclusive 2D interactive map
  • Slideshows of the park attractions and shows
  • Alphabetical listing of all attractions / attraction themes are colored and numbered (age accessibility, what kind of shows and sensations…) / schedules and duration display including the next opening
  • Listing of available services, shops, restaurants and cafés opened during the visit
  • Recommended itineraries, from the quickest way, to the step-free way for people with reduced mobility, including calculated time needed in minutes
  • Personal itinerary texted to mobile
  • Help button to rapidly phone call the park services
  • User interface easily switching between French, English and Spanish languages


The development and the installation of Futuroscope equipment reunited the skills and coordination of a graphic design studio (
Dagobert), an outdoor furniture manufacturer (Infinitus), softwares and user interfaces co-developed by ViaDirect and its long time partner on the field: TMM Communication. 

ViaDirect has then supported the installation in full coordination with the Futuroscope and TMM Communication teams.

Daily software support and general maintenance are also coordinated between ViaDirect and TMM Communication.

Futuroscope requirements being very unique, ViaDirect and its partners have drawn and manufactured custom-made outdoors totems and dynamics displays to best suit Futuroscope wishes and needs.
